Hello
I believe great healthcare and wellness comes from an integrative, holistic, and natural approach. As a direct-care physician, I am in charge of my schedule and I make the time to listen, understand root causes, and explore natural ways to support healing and wellness.

Health is more than just treating illness, it’s about feeling good every day.
My Story
Tina Lai Wong, MD, DABP

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Southern California. My dad is a pastor and my mom is a nurse. All my life, my parents have exemplified serving God and helping others. Since I love science, I studied Biology at UC Riverside, and I especially loved Entomology (study of bugs). I went to medical school at Loma Linda University Medical Center. I am grateful that Loma Linda taught whole-person care: mind, body, & spirit. My General Pediatric Internship was at White Memorial Hospital. I completed my last two years of residency at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, where kids were medically complex. Many CHLA patients received innovative specialist care.
I am married to my childhood church friend, Dr. Mark Wong, an orthodontist. It was during residency I became a mom for the first time. Being a mom taught me a lot about being a pediatrician. In total, Dr. Mark and I have 7 children (6 boys, one girl, and one set of twins). I love being a mom and spending time with my children. Watching my kids grow and guiding their development through homeschooling was my primary profession. We have read many books aloud, hatched and raised chickens, traveled to many places, and music is part of their schooling. At the same time, I kept my General Pediatric Board Certification current and worked part-time as a per diem pediatrician for Kaiser Baldwin Park and local private pediatricians. In 2025, I decided it was time to start my own Direct Patient Care practice to care for my patients with FREEDOM and WELLNESS, thus we are FREEDOM PEDIATRICS & WELLNESS.
